Translation in progress

As in Auroralabs we don’t like to miss anything, we assisted the launching of the Andalusian Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

PMI is the leading project management organization in the world. We were very excited to assist the event, as software development professionals because we implement these management guidelines for our mobile application development projects.

That is why we listened carefully what the speakers said to us. In the first place Ignacio Alva Rodríguez, Project Management gave us a practical example on an app in this sector, that was very motivating. Then the turn of Julián Gómez, computer engineer who entertained the event with his presentation on project management and Agent 007. A priori seemed a bit disturbing but it turned out to be a talk with a lot of substance. And finally the intervention of Alfonso Bucero, renowned international speaker in Project Management and author of books aimed at project management and coaching.

And what do we make clear about project management?

That the management of projects is fundamental to plan the entire process of product development. It seems obvious in sectors like our software development where agile methodologies and lean or scrum words are familiar terms. But adapting these principles to companies in other sectors seems to me a success. Among other advantages:
  • Improve efficiency thanks to partial deliveries.
  • Work faster thanks to the involvement of the team.
  • Get a minimum viable product, and then add improvements and avoid
  • the waste of resources.
  • Increase the quality because the result will be closer to what the client wants.
  • Worthier because the start-up can start earlier thanks to the PMV.
  • Identify problems and respond on time.

And finally, other secret details of the events that I told my partners when I arrived to the office. The launch of the chapter was at an amazing hall with views at “Setas de Sevilla” and we were very well taken care of during the coffee break. Thanks for having us!
